I do not participate with any insurance panels and am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance. Please make sure to confirm that your plan reimburses out of network providers and telemental health services.
Insurance companies dictate clinical decisions such as length of treatment, frequency of sessions, and mandate a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement. Due to these factors, I have decided to not participate in insurance and instead focus on providing the best care to all of my clients.
Bypassing insurance allows the utmost flexibility and privacy for my clients. Should you still wish to use your insurance I would be an out of network provider and would be happy to supply you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Do you offer in office appointments?
All of my appointments are on-line. I have found that this works better for the clients that seek my services and that my clients really prefer the convenience and flexibility of online sessions.
Do I have to download any programs for online services?
No. I will email you a link to a virtual "waiting room" that you will click on to enter the session.
How does this work and what can I expect?
All of my clients start with a free 15 minute consult to make sure that I am the the best fit for you.
Once our phone call is complete and we decide to move forward with services I will send you the intake paperwork. We will also set up our first session. This session is when I like to get into more details and talk further about what you would like to see change in your life or your parenting. This is the time when we explore your strengths and any challenges you are facing. I also really want to know about how you operate, your beliefs, and any other information that is important to know in order to understand who you are as a person. Together we will explore in detail what is going on and identify a roadmap for where you would like to go. The amount of time we work together depends on you.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
My coaching services are for parents looking for parenting strategies to address a variety of issues that we face as parents (a few examples are potty training, managing tantrums, sleep issues, discipline strategies, or parent-child relationship building). As your coach, I work with you to identify the behavior or situation that you want assistance with and we come up with a plan together. This plan will consist of a variety of tools for you to use as a parent to help address the challenge you are facing. My parenting coaching services are designed to be goal and action oriented often focusing on a very specific issue or behavior. Coaching services are designed to provide you with information and tools to manage various parenting challenges. Coaching has an emphasis on action, not process. Coaching tends to be shorter term and focused on the present.
Therapy focuses more on what is happening with you. It may focus on managing stress and anxiety or even working through adjusting to your role as a parent. For others it is identifying why your kids push those buttons and why you can't stop yelling no matter how you hard you try. Therapy focuses on your thoughts and feelings and what is happening with you. It focuses more on process as well as past issues and patterns of thinking and behavior. Therapy focuses on experiences, emotions, thoughts, beliefs and ways of being in the world. In addition to processing thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences it can include skills training for more effective management of emotions or relationship issues.
I look forward to connecting with you. If you have additional questions , please feel free to message me.
